We teach at Rhydyfelin Community Centre, Rhydyfelin, Pontypridd. Our classes are primarily self defence, but unlike most martial arts clubs we cover all aspects of personal safety including bullying, social media & online safety, stranger danger, first aid and much more.
Young children are using social media more and more. While we know that children under 13 should not be using sites such as Facebook and Twitter, the reality is they do. Therefore we have a strong emphasis on using them safely and knowing how to keep important information private. Hoshi’s mission is to show children how to stay safe in all aspects of their lives!
Our coaching team all come from a diverse range of styles and backgrounds. We have a guest instructor most month’s allowing the students to further experience other styles and disciplines. All Coaches are DBS checked, Insured and First Aid trained. We have a female coach at all classes.
We have specially designed our syllabus to enable children to learn physical self defence in an easy-to-learn, safe and effective manner. While also building a child’s confidence, teamwork, awareness, self image and fitness. We welcome children with additional needs to our classes, including Autistic children, and work closely with Autism Puzzles in Cardiff to ensure best practise.
